I think I remember reading about this kid a couple of years ago. He gave up hockey because he was too small and there was no future for him.
Yes I'm in with the 90's. I have a skating blog. http://icedoesntcare.blogspot.com/

The opposite can also happen:  This hockey player was Rockne Brubaker's partner.  They won the US Junior Pairs title in 2005 and brought home bronze from the ISU Junior Grand Prix.

Seems like she's having a good time in college.  I wonder if her teammates know that she's a figure skater?

Very nice skating!

I love that they are comparing his skating to Kurt Browning - I am sure Kurt played some hockey and in fact many many of the really great figure skaters also played hockey - really good for getting down into their knees!!

The Carolina Hurricanes have a player that started as a figure skater and switched over to hockey in his early teens.  Jeff Skinner is currently the youngest player in the NHL and the points leader for all rookies (or at least he was a couple of weeks ago)   I understand that he tested pretty high in the Canadian system and can still do a full axel in all his hockey gear, in hockey skates.
