I took a fan lesson w/ Paul Wylie once. He's incredibly nice and a really good coach.

This is awesome! But ironic I'd have to drive two hours to Hillsborough when I live in Charlotte and have been on at least two freestyle sessions where he was teaching. It would be worth it!

The registration deadline for the Paul Wylie seminar is January 15th!  We can have a www.skatingforums.com meetup at the Saturday night dinner.  Paul will be the keynote speaker.

Two men from my rink are going!
One will be lucky to stay up right, the other working on silver freestyle. It's going to be a hoot for them

I think I met your two guys. Kenneth was one--a lefty skater. I forget the other's name, but he was in the same group as me for the edge class.

Thank you for coming, axelwylie, ChristyRN and Backtotheice!  I was a bit overwhelmed with setting up and keeping an eye on things, but I'm glad I got to talk to Backtotheice and ChristyRN.

I skipped Ballet to put things away for the night so that I could do a skatingforums meetup photo, but everyone was leaving by the time I came back from the car.

Christy and I took a photo at the dinner:

How was the dinner? I was sad to have missed it. I had to drive home since I was competing the next day. I demonstrated the back spin during the spin part of the seminar and wore the Gold medalist jacket. :)

It was good. Paul is a great motivational speaker.

It was so great to meet everyone! Paul was so nice, supportive of adults skating, and funny too. My biggest take away message was to always "sell it". Even if you fall on every jump get up and smile and keep going.

The talk he gave at dinner is similar to this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuawYcmkqls
