I do agree that over the boot tights look horrid, whatever the colour.

Another issue that put me off black boots was I thought they might not be built to the same specification. ie could be made for a wider foot or heavier skater.

Alot of people recommend buying children's riding hats for adults, as there is a tax saving in the UK. I weighed the same model and size in child and adult sizes, and there was a significant weight difference, so I didnt feel they could do the same job.

Actually quite true.  Men's heels are on average wider than woman's.    Though I presume the range overlaps significantly.

It's a damned shame that men can't show off their fancy footwork    Hey wait, isn't black a contrasting colour to white, after all?     I will suspect though that white boots probably do look effective on black figures ice.
