Agnes mentioned in her blog that leg warmers coming back... and at my rink, they're definitely making an appearance.  I've seen all kinds of sparkly ones, and one of the little darlings has a pair for every outfit.  A few of the younger coaches wear them as well.  As someone that's currently trying to get that scratch spin down, I think, for me, they would be a disaster waiting to happen.  I figure I'd catch a blade in them and a giant kersplat would follow.

Of course, I could be wrong.

Anyone here rocking the trend?

They are super popular here.  They're also not baggy, slouch style like the 80s.  They look more like a knit sock.  Lots of the kids have them and I'm tempted but every time I see them on an adult - unless their legs are suuuupppppppeeeerrr slim - I think they look ridiculous.  I remind myself of this when I'm contemplating getting myself some.  There are some things that just don't carry over into adulthood very well lol.  :-\

Ridiculous or not, I wear them in the winter when the rink is super cold.  They do help keep the lower leg and feet warmer!

I've also worn them, don't feel ridiculous at all - they are really helpful in a super-cold rink!!

And have not tripped on them either - I don't do freestyle so there is really no reason for my blade to be anywhere near the area of the leg-warmers although I suppose if I had them really low on my boot they might catch...

I've got  friend who wears them on a regular bases at our rink. She is working on the lower level doubles with me and as far as I know she hasn't caught them yet and she has a very tight air position. I on the other hand wont go near them... I am known for cutting my OTB tights in jumps so I don't want to know what would happen if God forbid I'd catch them mid air...

I guess for me they might be restricted to choreography sessions or figures patches...

They do look super cute on the her, and we also have an 8 year old who sometimes wears them with little shorts... She reminds me of the cat in boots every time she wears them though.

They're used here strictly for fashion.  Don't look warm at all.  Bright colours, sparkles, glitter, etc.  I think I'd be okay with a basic leg warmer.

I wear them sometimes and love them.  I like the way they look.   :D

I just put together a '80's new wave playlist I'm hoping to sneak onto one of the lightly attended adult public sessions sometime soon... maybe I should go for broke and dig out my Return of the Jedi leg warmers too.   :D

I have a couple of pairs - I love them in winter, I wear them under my pants. My calves have a tendency to get quite tight when they're cold, so I consider them necessary, but by wearing them under my pants I eliminate the snag factor.
"Three months in figure skating is nothing. Three months is like 5 minutes in a day. 5 minutes in 24 hours - that's how long you've been working on this. And that's not long at all. You are 1000% better than you were 5 minutes ago." -- My coach
