Many years ago I had a skate spinner (the ball-bearing lazy-susan kind, not the plastic wedge).  It was great and having recently started skating again I went looking for it, but since I had moved 5 times, it was lost.  I got a new one exactly like it, used it for a little while and then - you guessed it - I found the old one.

Long story short - I'm giving away the new one to the first person to message me who wants to reimburse me for shipping.  (My guess is priority mail is around $7.)

This is it:

That's the very first type of spinner I ever had! I prefer the plastic ones to these.

I should see if I can find my old one and sell it lol.

The plastic ones make me nervous that I'll skid sideways and fly off and hit my head on a table (very small apartment)!  I'm sure it just takes getting used to, but I only ever tried a friend's once.

Me too.  Very small apartment and have the plastic.  Not easy to use safely in here!

Heh! I built the lazy Susan type. Since I haven't used it in years, I repurposed it to make a rotary table for spray painting...

I never warmed up to it as a practice device, although a Senior-ranked skater once gave it a try and executed one of the best, fastest "land spins" I've ever seen.

That is AMAZING!  I admit I DID think about whether I should keep the thing in case I could repurpose it for something later, but then decided it could get more use in a new home than in the back of my closet.

I've got both kinds now and I've only used the metal Lazy Susan type one a few times.  (Actually, haven't used either one in quite a while...)  I didn't like that you had to get your foot positioned just right on the plate to get it over the center.  With the plastic one, you can find the sweet spot by shifting your weight around (or not, if you're me...  88) ); it seems more like being on an actual blade with a rocker.  But I think both have their uses.

I have a plastic one but now I'm wondering if I need the other one haha! Whenever I get any sort of speed I'm scared I'll skid/go flying lol
