Padded boot insert?

My toes don't lie flat and my toebox is a bit high. Probably usually a good thing, but in my case my middle right toe rubs against the top of the toebox, and probably mostly due to jumps, ands up hurting and missing a little patch of skin. The toebox is the only part of the boots that doesnt fit snugly and I imagine there is some good reason for that. My sock also looks to be wearing thin there. This was not a problem when I was wearing thicker socks, though the thinner ones are preferable for other reasons. I have felt around in the boot with my hand, and it seems pretty smooth and free of sharp edges, though that is where the tongue is stitched on.

I am looking for suggestions, and wondering if there isn't something like the thin gel padding with a cloth cavering of a bunga pad, but small and with an adhesive backing that I could stich to the top of the inside of the toebox to alleviate this issue. In the meantime I think keeping a band-aid on the toe, even when it heals, should suffice. It was healing well, then yesterday I forgot to use the band-aid, so now it's hurt again.  88)

I wonder if a bit of sheepskin (with the wool trimmed appropriately) wouldn't do the trick and also keep my toes a little warmer...

Thanks in advance for any tips or advice.

Bunga toe pads do exist, if that is what you are looking for

Thanks!  That is great to know!  I think more ideal would be something installed in the boot that I don't have to worry about and only pads the top, but the toe tube will surely be better than a band-aid that I have to throw away every time and leaves sticky residue...

I would get some 1mm or 1.5mm EVA foam (the "foam sheets" sold at craft stores) and build up under the insole under the front half of your foot until it's where you like it.  It will deteriorate over time and go flat, but it's very cheap and easily replaced.

When I was looking for Ouch Pouches I found one of the range had padding on the top and cloth on the bottom so you could try a ballet supplies store.

I know it seems easier to install something, but anything you do install will wear down and need to be replaced which is why many of the options are stuff you put on your body.  Check out some dance stores (or web sites).  I'd think that what they use might be serviceable for you.

I had a similar problem with my big toe. I cut the insole just under the big toe and that gave me enough room so the toebox didn't push on the toe.
