Anybody know where you can get 3/8" to 1/2" thick lambs wool material for relining boot tongues?

The sponge material on my old SP Teri boot tongues is deteriorating and I'm interested in self relining them with lambs wool and was trying to find a source (USA) for that material. Also was wondering what kind of glue to use ?

Thanks for any help or info

Not an answer, but SPTeri can sell you a new tongue.  Your local shoe repair place can install it.

I just had my tongue re-done by Sp-Teri. It cost normally $50. If you can live without you skates for a week, I'd suggest shipping them to George.
Also, when I was in the shop  I asked George about Lambs Wool tongues( among a million other things). He was not very excited to switch a Sponge tongue for a full wool tongue, specially if you are a jumping anything about a loop since the wool compresses a lot more than the sponge. If you are dancer on the other hand go for it.

Thanks for the info but $$ is the main issue for me in doing it myself. I'm retired on a tight fixed income and really can't afford that much and also another forty or fifty dollars in UPS shipping to Ca and back. I used to be active in ice dancing but am mainly just a rec skater now due to many heath issues that drag me down.

Thanks again for the info anyway

I did it about 15 years ago to an old pair of Reidells (silver model, I think).  I tore out a grey foam liner, down to the leather.  Then, went to Tandy Leather company and bought standard lambswool. (They may have given me some scraps that they had for free, if I remember right.  I know I didn't have to buy the whole sheep.)     I then used liquid cement glue.  It held great and made it alot more comfortable.  For me, the sides of the leather tongue rubbed holes into my skin.  Because the lambswool overhangs the tongue, it didn't rub anymore.

I'm following this thread with interest, because I'm getting to that point with the tongues on my SPTeri dance boots as well.  It sounds like maybe I really could do the replacement myself.  What if I wanted to replace the foam instead of switch to lambswool (I haven't decided yet)?  Is there a source for that stuff?  I don't really want to send my skates all the way to California...  Chicago folks, Montclare could do this, couldn't they?  How long do you think I'd have to leave them?

I'd guess about an hour.
