These are beautiful skates which I purchased from an ebay seller who misled me about the size of the boots.  In her defense, she was selling donated items for a Mothers against drunk drivers group and didn't know squat about figure skate boots or blades.  I asked her repeatedly about the size (I need a size 9 1/2 boot) and she kept looking at the markings on the blades and said  "yes, yes, they're 9 1/2 alright".  I bid and won but when the skates arrived the boots turned out to be 6 1/2A!.  The blades indeed are 9 1/2".  Both boots and blades have had very little use and are in top condition.  I figure the blades alone are worth my asking price of $75.00.  It would be a shame to throw the boots in the trash but I'll leave that decision to the buyer.  I live in Bowie, Maryland so anyone local could PM me and we could meet at a mutually convenient location like Bowie Ice Arena for up close inspection.  Interested viewers can also PM me for photos.

Here's a pix of the boots/blades.  The blades have probably been sharpened once.  The right boot has a small scuff mark suggesting a lunge or two were performed before the skates were packed away.

Those look almost new!

I hope you can find a buyer for them. If the skates (or just blades!) fit someone, the $75 price is a steal.

Thanks Bill.  That's my hope.  They're certainly not doing anyone any good just sitting in my closet.  I figure that the boots will work  for either gender.

As an aside, fashion conscious ladies who wouldn't be caught dead in black boots could apply one of the many interesting patterned duct tapes that I see on the boots of some of the skaters in my neck of the woods.  Of course it remains to be seen whether or not patterned duct tape falls into the realm of fashion or that of style.  As Coco Channel once said "fashions come and go; style endures."

I've seen lots of brown tape over white boots used for synchro. There's no reason that brown tape over black boots wouldn't work equally well.

Thanks to all who viewed my ad for these skates.  They now have a new owner.

Thanks icedancer.  It appears that they're going to a good home and will be used right from the get-go.
