Okay, this is a R*U*M*O*R*

Over on facebook I saw a question posted that asked if anyone had heard if MITF for adults was being eliminated.

So I'm posting same question here?

Anyone? Anyone?

Really?  As much as I b!tch about moves, I like them. I just don't like spending hours upon hours practicing them to pass the tests. I totally understand why they are required and I think they make me a better skater.

I agree, which is why the rumor made no sense.

I saw that on FB and I think the person who posted it is, uh, hopeful.  I haven't seen any noise from Gail Sombati (former Chair, ASC) or Jason Spicer (current Chair, ASC)

I wondered about that 'hopefulness'. I mean there are a lot of adults who do moves who never move to freestyle.

I haven't heard a thing about this. I would find it very surprising if eliminating moves for adults was being considered.
"Any day now" turned out to be November 14, 2014.

Completely unfounded rumor.  Clearly somebody's wishful thinking.

I wish (at least as a prerequisite for FS tests, keep the separate track for those who want to do just moves), but I honestly don't see it happening.

I haven't heard anything from the USFSA, but in Belgium are moves are getting more difficult.  Rumor has it.....  wallie's will be included somewhere below Juv.

I also have not heard this and would be surprised if they got rid of MITF.

perhaps the issue is eliminating the adult track and have adults test the standard track at the adult level?

There are different challenges for adults than for younger skaters, which is why adults are given separate tests with different challenges at different levels.  So much thought has been put into the content of these tests that I would be very surprised if the Adult Committee allowed the adult MIF track to just be discarded.
