Hey guys, so I know that these boots and blade combination is probably one of the most common but I still want to show you guys because I got them today and their mine! ;D LOL ... I haven't skated on them yet. Just only to try the mounting. tomorrow morning is when I am going to truly be trying them out.

Don't be bummed when you get that first nick in the leather!  It's a badge of honor:-)

That's the upsetting part wish I could keep them all new and nick free.  But hey I think I'd prefer to sacrifice those nicks for me landing the axel lol!

Ripping the ice all day!

To keep the leather mostly nick free, wear boot covers over them. Nylon boot covers are slippery and make lunges slightly easier too.

Skate tape, which I haven't tried, but others here have, may work too.

But with boot covers or tape, you can't see your shiny new boots, so it defeats the purpose, unless you are preserving appearance for special occasions.

Now if anyone made transparent boot covers...

I don't know of a product to keep your blades nick free. You could tape the sides almost down to the edge. But then you couldn't see your shiny new blades, if they are new too.

Use and appearance preservation are not always compatible...

Yeah I think I will just keep it traditional and go with no boots and blades protection just good ol snowseal!! LOL

I would say they are NEVER compatible!

Congrats on the new boots. I was sure happy when mine came in.

The inside toe area of my boots look like a dog has been chewing on them. I guess learning crossovers was rough on the appearance. But my boots are black so they don't show very much.
