I've been dying to go to this since I first heard about it And I must give Agnesnitt a huge thank you!! I've been reading her blog posts about her experiences at the Lake Placid Adult Skating Program, I was up late last night getting so amped up about going!! I actually may have talked my friend who skates into going together now that would be an amazing opportunity!!

I'm really busy this year, so I haven't had the time to trawl the web for opportunities to share.

New Adult camp - I like the idea of using military ice rinks for camps and clinics!  (Ryan Jahnke is a big Adult Skating believer!)  I wonder if the standard-track camp actually runs through July 4th?  Seems a little unpatriotic to have camp on Independence Day when the rink is on an Air Force base.  Maybe they'll do an exhibition or something...hmmmm....

Air Force Academy, Cadet Ice Arena, in Colorado Springs, CO will be hosting its inaugural figure skating camp with a stellar coaching staff to include: Tom Zakrajsek (Olympic coach), Ryan Jahnke (World Team member), and Kori Ade (Olympic coach). Camp dates follow Broadmoor Open. Two separate camps are offered-adult & Pre-Pre through Senior. Day camp will include on-ice technique along with off-ice classes with experts in the following:

•Nutrition
•Mental Training
•IJS Components
•Strength/Physical Therapy
•Dance/Movement
 
Coaches are welcome to attend for free. Parents may attend roundtable.

Let me be the first to welcome you to the AFA Sports Camps - Adult Figure Skating Camp! Prepare yourself to be challenged to try new things in a fun and supportive environment. Our time together will include both on ice and off ice instruction during weekday evening hours. I sincerely hope to have the privilege of pushing you forward toward your skating goals. In accordance with NCAA guidelines, all AFA Sports Camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by specified number, age grade level and/or gender of its participants.

No, you don't, but they test USFSA, so if you want to test you'll need a member number.

I was actually thinking about going to this one, since I have friends in Co Springs who say I can stay there if I go.  They've been trying to get me to go visit for a couple years, anyways, and this seems like a nice excuse.

I did read through the content they had listed and it doesn't seem like they do anything above Single Jumps, though.  May have to call and talk to them and see what the deal iw.

The June group is usually more relaxed; there are many more attendees and higher level skaters at the August camp. Many excellent coachs there--had several terrific group lesson and a private lesson with Pail Wylie last year, and many lessons with Lorna Aldridge, past Canadian national ice dance champion.

I'm really determined to go this summer!! I think I've convinced my friend to come with me, but unfortunately probably only for 3 days. I'd love to go for the entire week but my friend is only able to spare the 3 days at the most...but with that being said it's looking like we'll be able to make the one in August!
