We are moving to California, San Jose, in a month.
I don't know anyone in that area. May be someone could advise me about good coach there, preferably Russian-speaking. It's so sad to leave my coaches with whom I'm skating more then 3 years already  :'(

Count me as well, relocating to Los Angeles area in July. (Sorry for piggybacking!)

The closest rink will be Pasadena but I suspect I'll have to travel for reasonable ice dance ice. The skating costs seem twice more expensive compared to Chicago, sigh. Ice dance / freestyle coach recommendations (in the PM) are truly appreciated :)  Currently on silver MITF / FS and pre-bronze / bronze dances.

iiane - don't know where you're starting out from (it can make a difference in LA) but if you're on the east side of town you might look into the ice in Ontario which is a direct eastbound shot on either 60 or 10. I think you'd be counter-commuting if you time it right.

There are lots of options in LA and the surrounding areas, like someone mentioned Ontario has two rinks but I'm not sure if there is an ice dance coach at either rink (I used to skate at one of them.) I know there are ice dance coaches at IceTown in Riverside. I would suggest calling the rinks and then when you move out here taking a trial lesson at each of the rinks that offer ice dance.

So it looks like nobody is living in San Jose :( That's sad, I was hoping to find new friends there.

Ok, will check coaches when we will be already there.

Thank you so much everyone, don't know why I missed the replies in thread... Will have to see how traffic works out, I should have fairly flexible schedule for a while, working from home and all. I like the rink in Pasadena, would be great to find dance coaches there. If not, the potential rinks are:

- Artesia via I-605 S for 22 miles
- Anaheim via I-605 S and I-5 S for 30 miles
- Ontario via I-10 E for 28 miles
- Paramont via I-605 S for 25 miles
- Culver City via I-10 W for 25 miles

Comments, traffic tips are appreciated!
