This is for brand new scribes.  I ordered one. The total was$51, which is minus a 20% discount coupon code I found, and plus shipping via USPS Priority mail. This is more than E-bay of course, but finding one on Ebay is almost impossible, and I couldn't find any place else that sells them.

This place is supposed to be for skating rink businesses. It does have a place where it asks for the rink with a drop-down list of names or states. I clicked on "Other". It didn't reject me and let me complete the ordering/paying process, so I'm assuming there is no problem. The cheaper shipping option is USPS Priority rather than the UPS options.

They also have carrying bags. I skipped it for budget reasons, because it adds both cost and shipping cost, while I can make a customized one for less than that in less than an hour.

Pretty good blade prices.  They have cotton laces, too!  Wow!

You could probably buy a cheap yoga mat bag for your scribe, but make sure it doesn't have mesh sides - they get caught on the fittings.  Fwiw, my bag has a little padding built in, which helps protect the scribe.  (It came wit my scribe)

Good find!

Hmmm, seems extremely lightweight. Might be a bit flimsy? No dimensions folded or extended, how large a circle will it trace? No pictures? I'd be cautious. I built my own out of aluminum for about $40.00.

What's interesting is that even though "figures is dead" there's a market for this. And it's like a secret. Obiviously Jerry's got enough requests that they either had new ones made (or found old stock) and people are finding them.

Yes I'm in with the 90's. I have a skating blog. http://icedoesntcare.blogspot.com/

Lol -it's a well-known scribe brand.  Jerry's has been around for years.  It's lightweight but not flimsy.  All real scribes are adjustable so they can trace different-sized circles for different-sized skaters.  In Figures, not all circles are the same size, so one skater might need to adjust the scribe.  Most real skaters know their dimensions.  I've said it before, it's not mandatory to have a scribe - back in the day, they were used to verify tracings, not lay out for anyone but newbies.

I'd be more concerned about a homemade scribe, to be honest.

At least a couple of coaches where I skate have scribes. I'm guessing there must be at least a few scribes being currently manufactured, for coaches to use as training aids.

More likely, they owned scribes from when they did figures as young skaters.  Or, as happened at one rink I work at, the coaches offered to buy scribes from older skaters/coaches who were downsizing or had extras.  I'm not aware of any being manufactured and that site seems to specialize in discontinued items such as the cotton laces.  They probably have old stock to sell, although Jerry's is still in business.

Try sending Jerry's an email to ask if they still make scribes.

Today I found a used one on EBay for a starting bid of $49.00. You can get a brand new one for that, which includes the shipping cost.
