Any experience with tendon and heel surgery?

Has anyone experienced PTT (post tibial tendon) and heel surgery? If so, what was it like to get back to skating afterwards?

I have a partially torn PTT which, among other things, keeps me from being able to do an outside edge on that foot. The surgery to treat my tendon is:

1) FDL transfer (cut out the bad tendon, cut out a nearby good  tendon, and suture the good, though smaller, tendon in where the bad tendon was)

2) Calcaneal osteotomy (cut the heel bone, which has started to deform, slide it over, and bolt it back into place to support the foot better)

While I read stories of people sometimes being able to run within a year of having this surgery, I've not heard of skaters who had a torn PTT. So please tell me any experience you've had with this.

[Edited to add some keywords: PTTD, Adult Acquired Flatfoot (names for this condition)]
