I am personally happy about this... hope I have the nerve to go.

Do it!

I hope I can be there.  I've fought so many years for my bronze test- and missed multiple nationals that were somewhat local.
Flights will be expensive, but maybe I have a family/friend to stay with, so the overall cost will be less.

I need to work on a better artistic program though.  It would be a lot more fun/ "worth it" to do two programs.

I'm happy about this too although I have absolutely no intention of going !! ???

Looking forward to seeing you all here!  :D :WS:

How exciting!  Has AZ ever hosted AN's before?

Nope, only the third Pac Coast club to host - Oakland, SLC and now Scottsdale!!

I always swore I would never fly anywhere to go to AN but I might have to do this--born in AZ and haven't been back since 1967!!  :o

Wow perfect timing for you! :)

I am soooo looking forward to going! I worked my behind off to qualify.  I'm going for the fun/experience of it. Plus, this will be the last competition my coach and I will be at together, as she is leaving my area.  :'(

Where is the nearest airport? (not intending to compete, just curious...)

The nearest airport is Phoenix Sky Harbor International. It is approximately 20-30 minutes from the rink. Scottsdale is a "suburb" but in Phoenix, there is no distance between the towns/cities. You just drive across a street and you're in the next city.

This is a good place, crowded and the traffic can be awful. But, my sister was born in Gilbert, and my aunt lives in Mesa, so.....a mini-family reunion is in order!  I lived in Mesa as a kid and way back then, we had orange groves in our backyard and we used to swim in the drainage culverts (not smart but what's a kid to do?)...I'm sure the town has really exploded. Can't wait to see it and visit with family.

I'm really stoked; going to put my request for time off from work ASAP!

Thought I would bump this up--is the announcement out yet? I don't see it anywhere...

FigureSpins

The AN announcement came out last year in mid-December, so I'd guess that you have to wait until next month for 2013 AN info.
