I haven't seen it posted anywhere but on the USFSA Eastern Section Facebook page, but the USFSA is offering a 50% discount on an IceNetwork Season Pass for those people who are USFSA members through a Club or individually.  It's normally $39.95, but the discounted price would be $19.95.  (That's more reasonable, imo.)

Current USFSA members with valid emails should get an email from US Figure Skating with the discount code on or before 8/22/2012.  (Now would be a good time to check your membership info.)  If you don't get the email by 8/22, call either icenetwork.com Customer Service at 866.464.8499 or the U.S. Figure Skating Member Services at 719.635.5200 to receive the discount code.

If you are already a IN subscriber, have a credit card set up and agreed to autorenewal, the subscription is scheduled to renew at a discount during the week of 8/14/2012.  I'm not sure how they will match up the two lists if your USFSA and icenetwork emails don't match, so I guess it's likely that some people will not get matched up properly.

This is the classy part: if you are charged the $39.95 fee in error, you can have the discount refunded to your credit card by calling icenetwork.com Customer Service at 866.464.8499.  (Have your USFSA number handy and make sure the membership is active.)

The offer is valid through October 22, 2012.

Just received an email from the USFSA, saying that current USFSA members receive a 50% discount on a season pass to icenetwork.com through Monday, 10/22.  The discount code was sent via email in August.  If you don't have/didn't receive the email, call icenetwork customer service or the USFSA membership department to request your code.

This morning I decided to try to watch IceNetwork on my iPad.  It's no go on Safari, but the Puffin browser does it!  I was really happy about it.  Two small drawbacks are that it's tricky to move ahead or back, and it won't do full screen.

Now, I might subscribe for a year since it's a reasonable price and I have the iPad.

I didn't renew this year because they only have a few events live.  I find when things are on demand, I don't go and watch them.  I get up at o'dark thirty, or stay up super late to watch grand prix.  What Universal Sports did to skating this year is ridiculous!  (It is their fault they didn't sell the rights to ice network, or allow subscriptions to their site anymore.)

Email from USFSA says the the live streaming on October 20th will be a free trial for any registered user.

Watching the free coverage now, surprisingly smooth and pleasant (knock on wood) considering my internet speed is pathetic, usually too slow for regular youtube vids.
