WIP (work in progress) or RIP (rest in peace)

Sk8tmum

Jump or thump
Spin or spin-out
Glide or slide
Standing tall or feeling small

PinkLaces

The Olympics are starting on the 27th and I know it's not our season, but....

Gold Medal or Missed the trials

Not sure about this one, but here goes:

Batman or bat boy

By bat boy I mean the young boys who help on the field/sidelines at baseball games.

Are your moves elegant, powerful, and awe-inspiring? Or are you at the boards marveling at others?
Adult Pre-bronze Moves (Oct 16)
Adult Bronze Moves (May 18)

Yay for the new practice thread title based on the Olympics: "Olympic Ready or Wannabe Freddy."

I watched a table tennis round yesterday and someone ranked below 100 competed against the #2 table tennis player. The underdog didn't win, but she put up an excellent fight. So I'm happy to see a thread title that reminds me of that.  :)

Hehe thanks sarahspins. The "worrier" came from the dance thread where I automatically started worrying about "what's next", lol. Never truly pulled a really fearless "warrior" myself!

I don't know how to phrase this one to make it sound better - first camel or competition camel:

That elusive "first camel" in lesson is always fast and centered, lighting up coach's eyes with extra revolutions (we won't talk about the ones afterwards...)

Then there is "competition camel", allegedly on the USFS adult nationals bingo card, where the spin starts off so well but falls apart out of nowhere...

AgnesNitt recently mentioned "china vase" (fragile). What would match it?

I am thinking... RUBBER BAND!!

FigureSpins

A: China shop bull

Here's one: centrifugal vs centripetal

For the record, I've never heard the phrase "competition camel" except for that bingo card discussion.  I think the cardmaker made it up or it's a private joke.

Metal case? Hmmm while I don't want to fall to pieces like a china vase, not sure if jumping like a metal case is any better...

The first thing that came to me is a Nalgene bottle, since it's a vessel like a vase and they are said to survive being run over by a car. However, nalgene bottle vs. china vase has absolutely no poetry to it, whatsoever!

If "china vase" is interpreted as too fragile (in a negative way), the counterpart would maybe reflect perseverance and toughness?

"Rubber ball" would jump better compared to "china vase", but totally lacks rhythm...  maybe "tilting doll"?

What about just rubber ball or china doll?

Love it, but I can't decide which one to pick :)  it's like the battle between artistry and athleticism.

AgnesNitt

Love it.

But since writing the rubber ball rhyme, I can't stop thinking about that A.A. Milne poem. "Oh Father Christmas, if you love me at all!"
