Last night I was watching the Stars On Ice  broadcast and I was once again enchanted by this number. When I first saw it at SOI live last spring I was breathless from the first note and push. I leaned forward and I don't think I breathed for the whole number. I have been a fan of these two since they began and the manner in which they have conducted themselves in various contexts ( not being in the Team Event in Sochi, Worlds 2015 ) has only served to enhance my enjoyment of their work. But this number... the nuanced subtleties, the exquisitely restrained emotion, the pure vision and exemplary use of music and movement to express an ageless theme in contemporary terms. In almost 50 years in this sport, the last time I was left with a sensory experience of this calibre was Martini Underhill at their peak. They are skating in the shadow of no one.

Their 2015 world's gala certainly was lovely.  Exquisite really.   But for me it's currently all about the Shibutanis.  They made me cry, W/P didn't.  Simply as that.  Art is such a subjective thing.   Everyone has different hot buttons.

I do agree with you on Martini/Underhill though.   (And I *love* the half-toe-swandive-lift @ 1.35: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKKKrOpN3QY   One of those WOW moments)

The Sibs may have finally challenged the long held theory that siblings cannot be effect dance partners. They are  not yet convincing me in skills or material but they are enjoyable. I prefer them to Chock Bates.

The U/M move is called Leap of  Faith.

I am pleased to see W/P have are keeping this number for show this year, possibly with an Elvis number, I suspect. Did I mention the divinity of the costuming. Think I will go watch it again.
BTW,  Des'ree sings the pants off the Beyonce version.

Thing with The Shibs is that I don't even want to look at their skills.   W/P definitely technically outclass them, but it's not what I care about.   Their "Fix You" in particular touched my heart, and that's worth so much more to me.

Without their skills they could not transport you with their performance of "Fix You".

Just watched GPF Gala. Carol Lane called it this number "simply beautiful" "the best thing they have ever done" and said it transfixes you. I will agree with that expertise. They did not speak during the number. Not even Kurt. I still get goosebumps all over my body. Go see it on You Tube. Can't wait to see it live again at Canadians.

Just saw this live again for the second time last Sunday at the gala in Halifax.  I am in love with this number. You could hear a pin drop and they got a real SO.  I noticed on the broadcast today Tracy did not say a word, which means she loved it.
