I think I've figured out what really strikes a chord with me in terms of what I enjoy watching in skating and the way I enjoy moving on the ice. This clip is an example of it, to the music of Erik Satie
School figures do sort of fall into this category in that they are slow and require perfect control of your edge at all times. But the whole experience of watching this , no jumps, no real spins, no bursts of speed, is satisfying. In an interview Curry mentioned "adagio" skating and I think this is an apt term. The choreography, the score, the lighting, the costuming, it all plays in together just as a theatre company works hard to create the scene with stage props, costumes, lighting, etc. Anyhow I think it would be something to play around with, to choreograph a program to similar music.
