Good luck to her!

I hope she is fully healed.  My daughter's friend had a hip injury and was out for 6 months, came back for 2 and is out another 6+ months.  They are too young to have life long pain.  :(

I thought the icenetwork interview transcript showed so well Alyssa's poise, graciousness and maturity!  I wish her well in upcoming Nationals!

There's a video you can hunt down as well.. it's from a distance and shot with a phone, but it's still heartbreaking to watch - especially how long it takes for someone to go to her (she doesn't move at all after the fall).

It's so incredibly unfortunate for her  :'(  I was really rooting for her to make a solid comeback - not expecting her to necessarily place super high at this year's nationals, but just get out there and show everyone she could make it back... and then this... it just sucks.

I tried hunting down the video on Youtube, but the poster cut the video before the injury. It seems it was really bad. What happened to her, does anyone know?

She fell and dislocated her hip (or dislocated her hip, which caused her to fall- always that arguement about hip injuries).

USFSA released a press release that said she was immediatly able to get top notch medical care due to some connections of an attending international judge and was briefly sedated so that he hip could be put back in place, but it doesn't sound like she had surgery.

She will be going to Nashville to follow up with the guy who did her previous hip surgery.   Nothing was said as to if the two injuries are related.
