7/7/2012 rulebook describes the combination spin as follows:

QuoteOne combination spin with only one change of position (minimum three revolutions in each position). Change of foot is optional.

What spin combination do you observe most often for the silver freeskate test?

Would a sit into forward scratch spin count? I assume sit - back sit is not valid because there is no change of position? What about sit - back scratch spin?

I'm really worried about sit-scratch counting anymore, because it doesn't count as a change of position in IJS anymore, it is just assumed you are rising up from the sit position, and extra revolutions aren't supposed to be scored (I think this helps prevent skaters from doing 4 revolutions and having the spin count as they didn't intend it to).  Even though it is a 6.0 level, judges get into the IJS mindset.

Camel is required for silver, so I guess you would see some camel-sits.  Or sit-scratch with a foot change, because then the position change is intentional?

Camel-sit or camel-back sit are the most common ones.  Camel-layback, sit-back scratch, layback-back sit, camel-back scratch are the usual suspects after those two

I agree with techskater, camel-sit is probably the most common.  I'm also weary to say that a scratch after any spin would designate as a combo, yet its technically a change of position....

Camel is very unstable for me at the moment and I'll hope not to put all the eggs in one basket lol. Will start working on sit - back scratch I guess :)  Thank you very much techskater for this nice list! ;D

Do you have a reliable layback?

If you ask, I have a single revolution layneck :)

Haven't officially started the spin, will ask for basic drills in the upcoming lessons.

Ah, I used Layback-back sit on my Silver FS.  I also did a flip-falling leaf-toe loop but at that time totally acceptable sequence.

My back is rather flexible but there is much more in a layback spin lol. Ditto knee bend and back sit. Silver free is a "reach" at the moment, I am very glad to map out the elements to work on! ;D
