Look at this one:  Frannie DaFoe's Most Treasured Possession
QuoteIt is a miniature pair of boots and blades made by Father David Bauer, the coach for the Canadian Hockey team in 1956. He made the blades and had them chrome plated and then found a boot maker to make the boots which are leather. I guess they could not find small hooks but otherwise they are perfect-- truly beautiful and mean the world to me-- He gave them to me as the true winner of the "Gold" in Cortina.

That is really cool.  Thank you for sharing - those skates and blades are quite beautiful and preserve the history of our sport.

Thanks for sharing...

Yes I'm in with the 90's. I have a skating blog. http://icedoesntcare.blogspot.com/

I would soooo love to see someone use the "ballerina roller skate":

The beautiful blades with swan heads instead of toe-picks would be wonderful to get hold, although toe-loops might be a bit tricky to perform.

Have you seen this?

No, I had not seen that.  That's pretty neat!

It seems to me that ballerina roller skates would be harder to stay balanced on than the ice version in the video.  I imagine a skater easily falling forward or backward off the wheel in the pictured roller skate.
