The US Army is trying to identify some "unknown soldiers" in Arlington National Cemetery.       In one case, a photo of a figure skater was found inside a plastic bag containing one soldier's cremated remains.  The Army hopes that by identifying the skater, they can identify the soldier, assuming that the girl is a friend or relative.

Based on the advertisements on the rink boards, they think the photo was taken at the Ice Works in Aston, PA in the 1999-2000 time period.  That rink hosts competitions and shows that attract skaters from all over, she may not be from that area.

She'd be in her early 20's today.  Since this board has a mix of active skaters, parents, judges and coaches, I figured it was worth a shot to see if someone knows the skater.  Take a look and see if you recognize her:

Anyone with information is urged to call Army CID at 703-696-3501

Yay - the family identified the skater.  Her grandmother's remains will be reburied with the girl's grandfather at Arlington.
