Query

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet.

The Jackson Pro-Flex boots, as far as I know the only major brand of boots with articulated joints to give easier ankle flex (much like some ski boots), have been discontinued.

Any thoughts?

Didn't they discontinue them way back in 2009?

Query

Hmmm. Maybe my source provided out of date info.

I can't figure out how to determine exactly when they were discontinued, without calling Jackson.

They were discontinued a while ago... 2009 sounds about right to me.

Yup.   Discontinued ages ago.  Along with the Matrix 1 blades.   88)

Now I need a new pair of boots & blades, and neither are made anymore.

Query

Most big name skate boot makers are often willing to rebuild boots, for under $100/pair.

So Katz, you already have Matrix 1 mounts? That would make just replacing the runners a great deal.

Yes, I have the Matrix 1 mounts on my Proflexes.  I don't want the boot rebuilt though, I think I want a new boot cos the boots never fitted around the heel properly.  Jacksons did a great job accommodating my enormous bunions, but my heel always slipped.  I ended up adding another lacehole to lock my heel in better.

Anyway, the Proflexes had some real strong points, but time to move on.
