"Womens Tall Booted Fashion Ice Skates".

Yep, apparently now it's a fashion statement....but I'd like to see someone try to actually skate in them!

$113 ?!?!?!  That's ridiculous.  One reviewer says that it impedes knee bend, so chin splits must in style, too.  She loves the attention that she gets from wearing them, though, so that's all that matters.  (How shallow.)

I did see that Roces has some "fashion" skates on their website that look like sneakers or motorcycle boots, but I've never seen them in real life.

Didn't Victorian skating boots come midway up the calf?

Yes, but they were very thin, soft leather with a lot of give in them.  Those high-topped boots are also the reason many people thought they had "weak ankles" for skating.  Your ankles would twist and you couldn't bend your knees very well.

These are to the knee and synthetic, so they really can't be compared to Victorian skates anyway.

There's a reason why today's skates are cut lower, although some nostalgic people think they were the cat's pajamas.
The skaters weren't able to do as much with those skates as we can do with modern figure skates.
