Just received an email from the Marketing & Programs Manager at ORDA.   (2/1/2011, 3:20pm)

Due to the northeast's bad weather, the schedule is being revised so that
no official practices or events start before Thursday, 2/3/2011 at 6pm.
There are unofficial practice ice sessions available before then; contact the organizers.

More updates will be forthcoming, along with a revised schedule.

Classy of them to reach out to all the competitors as well as the coaches.  I appreciated that message - it was a relief since we're snowed in without any snow here.

I saw that earlier today. I feel bad for the Open Juvie teams as well as the pre-Juvie teams that have official practice in the middle of the night and then competition the next day at 9:30am :( poor kids!

Not just poor kids - poor judges, poor tech specialists and poor volunteers.

I'm horrified a competition could bring out a schedule like that. I thought we had it bad when we had competitions finishing at 10pm having started for official practice at 6am, but I don't think I'll ever gripe again after seeing that schedule.

The delayed start is because the judges and officials couldn't get there in time, and they are very much appreciated.

It's because the original schedule had the younger teams skating first, so they had to compress the schedule.

Now we're snowed in after taking 6th.  Lake Placid is beautiful in the snow.

Congratulations!
Hope you all had fun and had a good skate.

And is it just me or do all synchro competitions have to involve snow? Most of the ones I attend have involved an element of snow, which is strange given that I come from a distinctly unsnowy part of the world.
