Loose heels....a solution?!

Hey folks, I think I have FINALLY found a way to make my boots hold my heels.  I just got new skates- customs no less, that are still a smidge too wide in the heels (but fit around the bunion, so we're all good).  My Gel sleeves are on their deathbed, and very expensive to replace here in France.  Plus, wearing them over the heels makes getting skates on challenging, since the sleeves on me tend to roll.

So I stumbled upon these heel cuppy thingys for soothing plantar fasciatis among other conditions (sorry it's in French.  When I have time to find the equivalent on Amazon.com, I will) :

They are dirt cheap, and I tried them today for the first time.  I wore them under my nylons and they worked.  I may even be able to take out the insert my skate tech put under the heel to help stabilize.  No blisters, a little sore on the bottom of my foot/arch, as I adjusted to having them on, but that was gone by the end of the session.

The gel is really stretchy- some reviews had complained about it snapping.  I can see how that would happen but they are also very forgiving.

Wanted to share!

I've seen some like those in AMAZON US, but I don't think they were as nice.
Yes I'm in with the 90's. I have a skating blog. http://icedoesntcare.blogspot.com/

That looks better than what I've used.
I've had the silipos boot bumper. That is a sleeve (more like a toeless ankle sock) which has a gel pad at the front and the back.
Same idea to keep the heel locked.
I'm currently in the narrowest fitting Graf skates which were punched out around the toes to make space for my bones (not even bunions).
Having really narrow heels is a hassle sometimes, but it's been really great having these skates for the last year and not having my feet swimming around in them. I just hope that tthe padding doesn't give way too soon, otherwise I'll be looking for these heel protectors.

Yours is the problem I have ALWAYS had with my boots.  Until my last pair, and these, they've always fit in the heels, but holy cow too tight in the toe box.  My tech and I decided customs might be worth it.  TBH, they are.  I have Jacksons, and the only thing I'd change is to narrow the heels one size.  You're in the UK, right?  I have a friend who just got a pair of custom Belatti's.  He said it was pretty easy to do, and he's pretty happy with the outcome.  If ordering custom Jacksons from this side of the pond proves intractable, it's a route I might go next time.  It's SUCH a nice change not having to doctor the front of the skates, AND not having severe pain when I take them off!  I'm happy to keep a supply of these heel sleeves, if they do the job!

Yes, in the UK. The last pair of skates came from Canada where I was properly fitted (doesn't everyone get off a 4hour flight and go straight to the skate shop?), and while I was highly skeptical when they put me in such narrow skates, I really do have narrow feet. Just a weird bone on the side nowhere near the toes which needed punching out. But I've since realised I was lucky to buy narrow instore, they're normally a special order. Apparently there are less people with the narrow problem than there are people with wide feet.
But I will be looking into getting some of your heel sleeves as they will solve the problem when the padding eventually starts going. Much cheaper than having to buy new boots prematurely.
