My favorite woodworking site (Lee Valley) also sells other tools besides woodworking specific items, including this shoe stretcher...

It's under $20, and I'm considering buying one for when I get new boots. Has anyone used something similar for skating boots and have an opinion?

It's shown being used on much thinner dress shoes, and I'm not sure how well it will handle heavier skating boots. Maybe it's enough?

I need to punch out my toe box, so I bought this. It works for bunions too.

Yes I'm in with the 90's. I have a skating blog. http://icedoesntcare.blogspot.com/

Agnes: Your tool looks like something out of a midieval dentistry kit!  Imagine trying to converse with ye olde dentist once he sticks that in your mouth!
