Riedell 910LS Boot Reviews?

Anyone in these boots? I'm going to upgrade my skates in the spring and these guys look like the next pair.

I'm currently in Jackson Competitors, which were great for a year but are now having some serious slippage in the heel. They also pinch my toes too much, so I'd like to go back to Riedells.

Already talked to the Skate Shop, and I need a split width; B in the Ball of my foot and AA in the heel. Just want to hear from folks who are in these boots already and what the opinion is.

 I have these boots. I HATE THEM! They are my first pair of figureskating boots. All I do on them is footwork and single jumps except for the axel. However, im not the common skater. Im a male over 200 pounds. The boots are low tops and as an adult skater these are the worst kind. It needs more ankle support. The low tops is best design for the kid skaters. I have owned them for less than 7 months and they have already completely been broken in. As if ive owned the boots for two years already and in desperate need of new boots. When I put them on I feel as if I have no ankle support at all anymore. On the bright side they are quite comfortable. I wouldnt  reccomend them for  beginning boots for adults, especially for the price.

Very popular with many of the kids at my rink. Not sure what level you are - the kids I see wearing them are in the 8-13yo range and landing all singles through beginning doubles.

I wear Riedell 2010LS boots and LOVE them. I skate adult silver, planning to test gold this summer and am working on junior moves and silver dances in them. Getting a third pair of the 2010s this summer. I LOVE the low backs. I wear a B ball/A heel and they come that way without special ordering.

If anyone near you still has the 1310LS boots (discontinuing those in May, I have no idea why, they are so popular at my rink!) in your size and you can try those on I'd suggest that - a little more support then the 910s but less then the 2010s.

I bought Riedell 255s as my first pair and really like them. I needed a wide toe box and the 255 came in a men's wide without having to modify the boot. I too am a male over 200 pounds. I considered the 910 but from advice on this forum I steered away from them, partially due to the low cut back you commented on. I got the impression these are more for dance.  At first I was concerned about getting too stiff of a boot as my first boot with the 255 , but I probably could have gone for a stiffer boot had that been necessary.

Yeah unfortuantely no one told me especiallu the pro shop that adults shouldnt wear low tops had to find out the hard way

I tried them on. They crushed my toes. I returned them.

I skated in Riedells through Alpha-Beta, moved to the Jacksons for Gamma and into Freestyle elements. I loved the Riedells because they were easier on my toes, but they started to become loose on my feet.

Now the Jacksons, which were awesome skates for the past year, have started to become loose on my feet. With the addition of some creative socks, they are livable for now.

I tried on a pair of 910's and they didn't feel low, but I'll think on that point. I'm 5' 4" and 125 lbs, so I'm not asking much of them, really. The 2010's are a bit out of my price range right now!

910s where the skates I bought when I returned to skating as an adult - I loved them. Very comfy, with supportive sides to support my tiny jumps and lower cut at the back so I could point my toes easily when learning to dance. They worked for me at the time and I still love the fit and shape.

I'm now in Riedell 2010LS (as I've progressed and am also pretty overweight) - they have the same lower back and stiffer supportive sides. I only do dance now but used to jump in my previous pair as the Light series is made for jumping too.

The 1310s may be an option - might be more like the stiffness of your Jackson Competitors than the 910LS. Riedell also do a traditional series too if you don't want the low back (255, 435, 875 TS).
