Anyone here ever download these videos?  I have a few of them and they aren't bad.  There's a few more I was thinking of buying (especially since the cost went down and they're having a 15% off sale), but there was a move on one that had me scratching my head:

What is a Cross Roll Mohawk??

I've watched the sample clip from the video and while it sort of makes sense, when I try it, I'm going around in circles.  Of course, that also happens when I do rolling threes, so it might be more my problem than not understanding what to do.

Have you tried the videos?  Have you tried a cross roll mohawk?

I've downloaded a few - they're good, albeit extremely short and focused on the one topic.  Of course, the demonstrator "gets it" immediately so there's very little in the way of remedial drills.  (That's the thing I love about Audrey Weisiger's vids on icoachskating.com - she is very thorough and adds side notes and alternate drills if the core exercise is too difficult.)

To me, a "Cross Roll Mohawk" is a cross roll followed by a Mohawk - isn't it in one of the dance patterns?

Found this sample on YouTube:

Wow - they have a lot of videos on their sample channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Sk8erZoneSamples/videos

Yes, I saw the Boxing Day discount.  Excellent.

Haven't signed up for icoachskating.com.  Is it worth it?

As for the cross roll mohawk - if it's in a dance, I don't know it.  Learned my preliminary dances; promptly forgot them.   :-[  Like same day forgot them.  Every so often, I take out my rule book and try to follow it.  I still don't have them.  I don't know, sometimes footwork and I are NOT friends.

Regarding My Sk8 Coach, I wish they had lefty skaters from time to time.  Reversing things gets old really fast.

PS - Sorry I posted my original post in the wrong area.  Please forgive me.

I've been looking at these videos and and wondering if these freebies are indicative of how the mysk8coach vids are.  THB, I find them rather lacking- more of a demo (the bracket one, for examble could have had more information on common mistakes, and tips on how to avoid a last minute COE and keep it a bracket as opposed to a 3 turn).

Anyone have any comments?  How do these compare to the videos available on iCoachskating?  I've been thinking of signing on to one of these.  IcoachSkating is more expensive, but are the instructions better?  I'm interested primarily in field moves/figures and just the basics of how to do each move....I know nothing will replace an actual live coach!

FigureSpins

I prefer icoachskating's videos to mysk8coach's for those reasons.  I like the longer, more instructional, style of ICS, but not their monthly subscription fee.  Their two-month subscription is a great idea.  On mysk8coach, you could buy 10 videos a month for the ICS rate, but ICS gives you access to their whole library.  It's a toss up.

So the freebies on both sites are truely indicative of the non-freebies?  If so, ICS is far, far and away the better resource.  Seriously toying with the 2 month membership.  Can you download the vids like with MySk8?

FigureSpins

I believe ICS only offers DVDs, not downloads.
