My soon to be 10 yo is going...first regionals...she is excited and nervous.   She doesn't have the technical level to get past the qualifying round but the program is at least looking nice and clean.  Anyone else going?

Good luck at Regionals!

I looked at the roster for my area (Pacific North West)--wow! The numbers are way down from previous years. It looks like it's almost entirely a Pre-Pre competition. We've never been a large region, but the low turnout is just sad.

They have pre-pre in your region?? I've heard the numbers are down in my region as well and club non-quals are supposedly down too.

Yes, but obviously that's non-qualifying. They're also doing no-test.

icefrog

Wow even no-test! At my rink its a big deal to make it to pre-juv so you can finally join everyone at regionals.

Well, PNW might be down, but there are 31 skaters from my club going - I am excited for them actually.

The group does include a lot in the non-qualifying though...

PNW has more juv this year than last year, and there are more pre pre kids as well.More pre juv girls by one this year.I will count the names on the shirts on the am vs last years shirt.I think there as many intermed this year as last year, but no senior men as they get bys to sectionals.
One reason might be down is IJS for all skaters made fees go up.!!130.00 entry fee for all levels.

I think fees have gone up generally this season.  For regionals, we paid $130 and, unfortunately, no IJS for non-qual levels here. Good luck and skate well to your ds & dd!
