today. We'll see how it goes. :) The other skaters in the class are much more advanced then I am. One is working on her adult gold moves, has a great sit spin, camel spin as well as some other spins and decent single jumps. The other lady is about the same. I was going to wait a few more weeks to join the class, but they both want me to do it too, so here goes! It will be great exercise!

I also am working on a 1 foot spin. It isn't great but it is kind of fun to try out! I've always said I was not interested in competing. But I might consider testing. It would give me something to work towards. The problem I am having, if I get the bug to compete it would have to be dance because I don't think I am allowed to jump(I have a back issue I am not sure I want to risk with jumping). Dance music BORES me! lol. Anyway, all in all, I am excited to start this class.

Wow, can I take one with you?  If you are an adult, don't jump.  Just twizzle....

I started ice dance not long ago and sank deeper than I ever imagined. I believe it's the so called dark side of figure skating? LOL

Beginner dances are rather safe as long as one does not trip the partner...

How did it go??

Only the compulsories :) if you put together a free dance you can have anything... even the vocal music that freeskaters can't! A girl at my rink is using Hairspray, others have gone from everything from Celine Dion to Pirates of the Caribbean. You will have fun!

The US doesn't seem to do free dance below the elite levels.  :(   At least I've never heard of an adult doing it...

Good to know.  But I'd consider those "elite adults" :)  Pregold is pretty high up there...

USFS has adult and masters free dance tests at the lower levels, but not many adults seem to do them, since they're not required for anything.

Was talking to a pre-gold dancer last time and the free dance sort of hit the team as surprise!

Yeah.  My partner and I are talking about taking free dance tests, so that if we ever do work our way up to the Pre-Gold level it won't be such a shock.  I've been a freestyler, so it's no big deal, but he's only ever done dance or synchro so our show programs are the only "free skating" he's ever done.

I think it's an option for PG because they have the option of skating champ dance
