I'm sure this is in the wrong forum so please feel free to move...

My question is regarding qualifying and non-qualifying events.  This is my first try at a qualifying event, I'd like to compete Adult Gold championship at adult sectionals.  I don't know if I'm good enough for championship level, but I'm going to give it a go anyway!

Looking at previous national competitions, some skaters will compete the freeskate twice - once in the championship round, once in the open round.  Does this hold true for sectionals also?  What about compulsory events?  If, for example, I wanted to compete championship adult gold freeskate, can I also do the non-qualifying spins and jump events?  Is there a limit to how many events you can enter?

Thanks for any info!

Yes you can compete Open and Champ (and accessory events) and no there's not a limit for Sectionals.

Thank you!  My coach wasn't sure about the answer, and I figured it would be prudent to ask here.  :)

Best of luck!  I skate adult gold too!  I wanted to go to Sectionals but have opted out for 2012 and might try in 2013.  I would like to have more competitions under me first and consistent 2S and 2T.  Spins also need to improve a lot.  There are 3 competitions I will be doing in 2012 so hopefully that will give me the bump I need to do Chmp Gold and hopefully not make it a flop.

Thank you!  I have a couple of doubles (usually) but my spins are really weak - especially my sit!  But I figure I only have a limited time to do this (knees, only a few years left to have kids, etc), so I might as well go for it!  Hope to see you at some competitions. :)

Go for whatever you can. Hey, you're already at the event. You might as well maximize your experience there. If nothing else, it'll be a good practice for future competitions.
