Say,I know there are Youth Teams. But does anyone know what the age of the youngest Synchronized Skater is (or can be)? This question came to me when I learned of a Skater at my Rink who's on a Team that started when she was 4. Would that be the youngest you can go with concept with being able to skate with skaters, and knowing moves, etc.?  Or can you go even younger?

I think that the youngest skater at the USFS Synchro Nationals was 11.

There is no minimum age - younger skaters can participate on a Basic Skills team.

There aren't any actual rules that give a minimum age for synchro skaters.  However, I would think that 4 is about as young as you could go.  Most 3 year olds (and a lot of 4 and 5 year olds) just aren't able to pay attention long enough to learn a synchro program, or remember all the things in it.  Most kids that age can't skate well enough to do synchro, either.  They have a hard enough time skating by themselves, let alone trying to coordinate their steps with a bunch of other skaters.  I'm working with a bunch of kids on a group number for a show right now.  It's not a synchro number, but the 4 and 5 year olds in the group are having a really hard time following directions and remembering what comes next.

I doubt it...my dd is 10, and skated on a juvenile team at 9

The youngest skaters on an ISI team at this weekend's ISI Synchro Champs were, I believe, 4. ADORABLE.

My DD skated Pre-Juve when she was 4. She started skating though when she was two so she had a good base and had mastered many of the skills. Her team won gold in BC/YT and Sectionals. Our club has a Pre-Juve team every year with most of the kids being between 5-7.
