After the very helpful discussions in "Soft Skates for Elderly Skater", I've determined my dream skates.

3 hooks, not four
Double ankle notch.
Light stiffness leather
Low back for extension
Cork heels.

What's your dream skate?
Yes I'm in with the 90's. I have a skating blog. http://icedoesntcare.blogspot.com/

Thats funny I was just thinking of this!
Here are mine

Lightweight
Short Break in time
Low Cut for good extension, but still high enough to jump in
Perfect custom fit! (no blisters and weird toe pain!)

oh and free! Just kidding! I want custom SP Teris for my next boots and I was thinking of what they would be like!

Strong support, but flexible ankle bend right from the get-go that won't break down, ever (hmm.... maybe something like the pro-flex, if they ever bring that concept back to the market!)
Low cut back for good toe point
ZERO break in time (seriously, i'd like to see heat molding taking to the next level.. I think skates should be as comfy on day 1 of skating as they will be after 2 weeks)
Lining that wicks away moisture.. I hate how soggy my skates feel after just an hour of skating.. if I have to take them off for some reason in the middle of that, I dread putting them back on because it feels so nasty
A heel or insole with some shock absorbing power without being squishy

That said, I've had custom SP Teri's before - and I love my stock Jacksons (elite plus) more!  I will probably stay with Jackson whenever it's time for another pair.

That's interesting. I'm in stock Jacksons and I really like them, I just like some of the features I've seen on the custom SP Teris. Jackson's are comfy, light weight, and a great price.

Sierra

No break in necessary, just hop on the ice and start attempting doubles.
Skates that make my feet look small.
Skates that don't look like a small animal chewed on them after jumping in them.
Skates that cost less than $100 ;D
Blades that never loosen
Gel insole, flex notch and thickly padded tongue.

Narrow heel, wide ball (A heel and E ball)
Cut down elastic back
High heel

= my current ones  ;D ;D

(Would also have liked "cheap", "lightweight" and "makes feet look small", but you ain't gonna get that when the skates have to fit my feet!)

Mine aren't quite that different, but you're not alone on the E ball at least :)  In addition to having wide feet I have a relatively high instep too.. I dread shoe shopping.

Who, me?

BTW, those A/E split widths could have happily been made up as AA/F  - they were punched pretty mercilessly to widen at the ball when I got them...so much so that the bulge for widening is clearly visible.

Klingbeil has commented to me that maybe I should have taken up swimming (in reference to the size and shape of my feet)  ;D
