Yes I'm in with the 90's. I have a skating blog. http://icedoesntcare.blogspot.com/

That is so cool! I wonder how the blades are afterwards. But the ice seems pretty smooth...

We did this once or twice when I was a kid in the dc area. No damage to my blades as I recall. Lots of fun though!!

Let me tell you a story. As a proud Canadian.

This might seem silly and a bit outlandish to some people. But this can and does happen quite frequently where I live. Especially in recent years. We often get a mix of freezing rain/snow and there has been more than a few times where we have tossed up the goals right on the street and skated right then and there. It's super rough on the skates and can be a bit dangerous if cars decide to be out driving. But it does happen.

But the more interesting bit is as a kid, I lived in a small town and the local firefighters used to close down a street for the winter and use the hydrants to constantly 're-ice' the road back to front. It was like a local outdoor skating rink. It was also a lot of fun ^_^
Check out my blog as an adult getting back into figure skating! All input is appreciated ^_^
