I was 38 when I started taking skating lessons and was placed in the level for learn to skate/CanSkate for 3 months and then was placed on the ice with the Junior level skaters PrePre to Junior Bronze. Let me say I was at the PrePre level for a long time. I was just about ready to test my Preliminary FS 3 times. First time, I injured my knee avoiding hitting a child in the path of one of my jumps during my lesson. 2nd time, I came down with a very bad case of food poisoning and I could have tested this winter had I not broken my foot off ice in a store parking lot snow covered pothole. When I go back I have to get back into skating slowly but this time it's a blessing because I will be forced to get my darn backspin to go past 1 1/2 to 2 revs and I will get my loop solid enough to do a loop+loop combo.

I started in LTS when I was 20, and I started taking privates when I was 21. I have been skating 3-4 times a week for 4 years now :)

My daughter was 3 3/4 and my son was a week before his 3rd birthday. She is 16 3/4 now and he is 15 and they still skate 5 days a week.

I started skating (seasonally) when I was around 16.  The first check I every wrote (at 18) was for my first skating lesson.  Skated seasonally for two years, then went to year-round rinks and really started skating.
