Hi! I'm looking into getting a backpack style skate bag to replace my Zuca as I'm moving into a dorm and feel it would be easier to store. I've been looking at the Transpack and saw they have Expo and Ice styles. If my skates are a women's size 10 and my I think my blades are 10 3/4", do you think they would fit in the Ice or should I get the expo? Thanks!  :WS: :WS:

I bought the larger one as I was advised that it would be better for my size 9 skates (10.25" blades). I've never used the bag as it's far too big for me to carry and would take up more space than my zuca.

I think the large one is huge.  I use it for my rollerblades.  I use the Ice for my skates.  My blades are 10" and fit in it normally.  I would think yours would fit if your skates were positioned so that the blades faced the back of the bag.

I got the smaller one initially and my Jackson size 8 skates fit just fine.  (Snug, but definitely ok.)  I moved up to the bigger one when I started bringing fleece pants and jacket that were bulkier than my previous stuff- needed more space in the middle storage compartment.  But it's huge.

I use the Transpack ski because the center section is bigger and I like the flap cover in case it rains.

I don't know which model I have, except it's the bigger of the 2 offered.  It's awful for your body if you have to lug it around far.  Not good at all ergonomically!  I only like that the skates have their own compartments are can air out.  That's the one and only quality I think it has.

Thanks everyone! This makes me feel better in buying it. I'd read where other people said the big one was huge, but they never mentioned size skates or anything. Thanks so much!

EDIT:
I looked at my blade length because I'm ordering rockerz too, and saw it was 10 in so I can go into this purchase pretty confident. I know it doesn't seem like a lot of money or a big deal, but returns are a hassle!

I know you have your heart set on transpack, but why not look at other options? For example a small suitcase (18" or 19") can do double duty. And you might want to look at something else like this

Ooooo, I like that AgnesNitt.  Do you know if it would fit in an average locker?  Leaving thing out at some of the rinks I go to is tricky.  I really want something on wheels.

It's not that I have my heart set on a transpack, but there's this little nook in my dorm where I plan on storing it and it's kinda high up and I feel a backpack style bag would work better. I've thought about suitcases and that other bag looks really nice though! Thanks for the suggestions :)

I would suggest you measure the locker.

The dimensions of the bag are: 15 inches high x 13 inches wide x 15 inches deep

Thanks.  I have to remember to put a measuring tape in my bag.

You'd be getting the short hand there :) It has some good wear on it!

I almost bought the one from Overstock, but then I got a Zuca for $25 at a club sale.

Oh forgot to mention that the one thing I also really liked about the Transpack Ski, because I walk to the rink sometimes, is that the boot storage is enclosed however if you want the skates to breathe then the other options may work better.

Whoa!  Serious @agnesnitt?!  That's awesome.  A "skating club" sale?

Yep, I didn't give them enough time to realize they should have had a 1 in front of the 25. I pulled the cash out and handed it over to the cashier.
Always, always, check under the table first.
