I am so excited! Tomorrow me and my coach are going to get me in some new skates   :spin:
SO excited! I am going to my first pro-shop and am buzzing with excitement!  NO MORE GLACIER 120's!!!
I am trying on three pairs tomorrow:
First a used pair of mens Riedel's which I may not be to excited about(my coach is, apparently these are very good skates)

Woohoo! I hope you find a pair that works for you :)

Riedells didn't work out for me because my foot was to wide for them. Waiting for my jackson boots to see how they feel  compared to reidell most likely better because jackson are made wider.

I ended up with Riedell 320 CV's (an older model) with MK 21 blades on them. Used but still very much new with lots of life left. They are a boys skate, but after traveling 2 hours and trying several pairs on for what my budget was these were the best. They are a lot of boot and it made me nervous because I have only ever had recreational skates. And they are a lot of skate. It was a HUGE purchase.

Color doesn't matter as long as they fit!  Hope they work well!

That's great congrats on the boots. I'm still waiting for mine hopefully the pro shop calls me tomorrow.

I went with Riedell (255TS) over a Jackson because the men's 9 Wide had a wider toe box then a comparable Jackson. I had to go with the 255 to get a wide in the Riedell, but I was looking at a similar price point in a Jackson to get a wide as well. Still beat going with a custom add-on of $50-100 for either brand.

Wow really? I wouldn't know yet since I haven't tried yet but I will let you know. My prior reidells are wide too but I couldn't take it. The toe box was sooo small at first that after two hours of using them they would make my big toe nail bleed and the ring toe as well. The rest of the boot felt great though. Now that they are so broken down they feel comfortable at the toe box but now nothing for support at the ankle area.

ooooh So_Jess!!!   Happy dance for you!!

They're going to feel so different, and maybe not good at first, but stick with it and be patient- you are going to be so happy with "proper" skates!

Many women at my club wear black boots- one actually has customs that she orders in black, because she hates white shoes.  SO you're just in tune with a French trend- haute couture figure skating. ;)

Are you going to try out those 21's?  Or go with the Silver Tests?  The 21's might have a better toe-pick configuration for you.

I FINALLY got to skate in them and I LOVE THEM! NO blisters either first time out. I am SO PLEASED with them. and I am skating in the 21's the sliver tests are the wrong length and will likely go to another Special Olympic skater who has good boots but someone shaved some of her toe pic off. The rocker was a bit different but I LOVE THEM.
