I have a tiny iPod Nano that I use when working out.  These three songs on my playlist really  motivate me on the Elliptical:

Come out of the Shade -The Perishers
Rock Lobster -B52s
Hey Mr DJ - Backstreet Boys

On the ice, I usually warm up with:

Wonderful Day - O.A.R.
Middle Of the Night - Sherwood
Call Me, Beep Me - Christina Milan

I also love "Everybody" by the Backstreet Boys.

What tunes get you rockin' on &/or off the ice?

I was about to give the same answer, and then I saw yours.  Yes, this song is really catchy. They played it at the rink the other day, and I did my moves to it. It was fun!

All those years I've been on the ice (basically grew up on it) I've never listened to my iPod...now I wanna start but my question is, don't the earplugs fall out when you jump? :-)
It doesn't matter how bad the day/week is as soon as I'm on the ice and hear the sound of my blades it's all good. Nothing else matters on the ice!

I use cheap ($5) earbuds from Five Below and they stay in fine.  They come with three different size cushions, so you can get them to fit snugly.  I even use them without plugging them in - they make great sound deadeners for our blaring soundsystem.

So using the normal apple ones probably wouldn't work?

No, I tried them.  The Apple earphones just hang on your ears.  Earbuds have silicone bits that fit in tightly.

Tried it Sunday, in fact, when I couldn't find my earbuds.  Apple ones went flying when I spun or jumped.

I normally listen to an audiobook.  If I do listen to music, it's most often Queens of the Stone Age.

Love this thread! I don't listen to music much but I'm thinking it would help keep me focused on practice / working out ... So I'd love to hear what's on your playlists now! :)

I like to use a bluetooth headset where the bulk of the device rests around my neck and only the buds go in my ears.
I listen to 'clean' versions of Kanye, broadway showtunes, some samba. I'm a complicated girl.

I just use it for lap skating though. If I'm practicing anything more than my 8's, I like to be focused.
Yes I'm in with the 90's. I have a skating blog. http://icedoesntcare.blogspot.com/

Brave by Sara Bareilles
Wake Me Up by Avicii
My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up) by Fall Out Boy
Love the Way You Lie by Eminem

I practice on public so usually just listen to the radio station while doing moves, etc.  If I'm doing laps I like to pick a Rock My Run station and go from there.  When I have a lesson and practice before the lesson during a freestyle session there has been a lot of Frozen played lately or other musicals.  I do stretching each day and so for that I've been checking out music from our library on my phone.  I tend to pick something and stay with it until it needs returned so for a while it was the Pitch Perfect soundtrack, then Katy Perry, next came Imagine Dragons and then I tried American Authors last week.
