I need new skates my Riedell 133TS skates need replacing. I have not been too happy with my Riedell skates, so I was looking at the Jackson freestyles as a comparable skate to a Riedell 255TS. I know I would be able to order Riedell skates rather easily, but I've been having a hard time finding a shop or rink that will sell me Jackson skates. I wear a ladies 13 so I usually order men's skates for the sake of cost. I am currently working on freestyle 4 and want a skate that will last me a little while.

Freestyle and 255 are of the same level. The difference is mainly in the fit. I've had Riedell 133's, was happy with them, and then shifted to Jackson Freestyles. I found the Freestyle to be a better fit for the ball of my foot, but once the foam compressed, my heel started to slip. I've remedied that using cosmetic pads, and I'm looking at buying split-width for my next pair.

Other than the fit issue, I'm happy with the Jacksons. The boot design makes toe point a lot easier than in Riedells, in my opinion.

Have you tried buying Freestyles online? Many stores offer refunds if the boot doesn't fit.

My 255 Riedells broke down after less than a year of  Freestyle 3-4 skating.  What about Riedell 435?  Also, if Riedells are not comfortable for you, I would switch to a different manufacturer.  Dealing with ill-fitting boots is incredibly frustrating and painful!

I ended up ordering a pair of Jackson freestyles and I am excited to try them. The Riedell's made the arches in my feet hurt when I skated, so I'm hoping to have better luck with the Jacksons.
