Just curious!  It looks like there are about 20 USFS opportunities this year in our area but I highly doubt we will do them all.   :sweat

My DD's coach wants her to enter 3 this year including regionals. My DD would do as many as I would allow but it would be with no coach attending.

We do as many as the coach directs, and no more than one every two months; competition season ends with our version of Regionals (unless skater advances) and no more competitions are done until the next year's competition cycle begins. This allows for training time without disruption for competitions. Other than for skaters advancing past regionals, no more than 3 perhaps 4 a year.

I told my coach this year that my personal goal is 2. I don't want to do more than that because I don't want to risk missing too much work in my first year.

Last two years DD did 6 each season.  That, I think, is about the limit for us. They were spaced 1-2 months apart mostly--enough time for her and coach to set goals and see progress with each competition.  Haven't really talked about it this year, but I'm guessing as a juvenile she'll start competing later and do fewer--maybe 4--unless she gets past regionals.   It's nice that there are so many locally.  We would definitely do fewer if we had to travel for competitions.

For sure we will only do ones where her coach is willing to be there.  I think it would be strange for dd to have someone else put her on the ice.  We have a long time to go till Juvenile!

DD (Pre-Juv) usually does 4-5 a year.  At the lower levels she used to do a spins, compulsory, and/or artistic event as well as her free-skate. Now she just wants to concentrate on her free-skate. If your daughter LOVES to compete, she may like to do as many as her coach allows.  A skater in our area at the Juvenile level does pretty much every event offered at every competition for USFS and several ISI competitions as well.

My daughter competes in about 5 competitions in a year. She also participates in 2 shows a year and has participated in exhibitions/critiques.

I'm glad to see we are pretty normal. Some skaters at our rink compete more then my daughter does, but they also are willing and able to travel more then we can and do. They also have a different coach then our daughter has. This year, we are planning on one out of state compeition. The rest will be local. This is the time of year we do more training. There are very few local or close competitions right now. Dd won't compete again for 4 more months. Once June hits, competitions rev up.

My daughter did 5 competitions last year at pre-pre and preliminary level. She will compete about 6 competitions this year including regional.

No children but I am doing 5 this year.  I have one in 3 weeks, another end of April, one in June, 2 in September in subsequent weekends.  That will be tough!!!  First time competing since 2005!
