Riedell 875 vs 1500

Hi ,
has anyone tried both 875 and 1500 in Riedells?   How is the stiffness between the two? Someone was telling me that the 875 is  cut differently (with more of a bend) than 1500.   How has your experience been?  I read all the information from the manufacturer, but I am interested in a  personal experience.

I have had recent experience with both 875 and 1500 - the 875's came as a youth model (size 3.5) and were too small.  I did skate on them for about a month.  Aside from the low heel and three hooks instead of four (youth model design) and the length being too short, they did seem light and responsive, and generally comfortable - except when I skated (not the correct size). I purchased the 1500's thinking they would be more like my previous pair, 900's, no longer made.  The 900's were awesome and amazing.  Well, the 1500's are very stiff. very. maybe too much for my level of skating. (no axel, adult). I have been on them for two months and they are uncomfortable.  I get ok forward  bend for sit spins, but laterally they are stiff. I may ending up  buying yet a third pair. much $$, but they need to work in order to be able to skate. I would consider the 875, as the 1500's are heavy and very stiff, my opinion. My friend (high silver adult w/ big axel) has the 875 and likes them. best of luck in your selection.

Have you looked at the returned-from-the-dead Gold Star?  We've used the 875's - with success - and are planning on moving up a boot level next purchase, and are considering a return to the Gold Star, as it is marginally more stiff than the 875, but, not as stiff as the 1500.

Thank you for your responses.  It is interesting that the 1500 are so much stiffer than the 875.  Must be the leather lining inside the boot.   Riedell's site states that both 875 and 1500 have triple quarter reinforcements (for lateral support), so I wonder where the additional stiffness is coming from.    Also, I heard that the Gold Star is heavier than 1500.

DPSPINS, did the side slits on the 1500 make any difference in the width?  When I tried 875, I felt they were slightly too wide, even though my measurements were right on.  I was thinking that a smaller width could fit better in the 1500 because of those slits?
My main reason for wanting to try 1500 is that the 875 are really digging into the front of my ankle of the landing leg. I read somewhere a similar review and the skater solved it by going to  1500 (and loving them).  I thought the 875 were very comfortable though... (aside from digging into the ankle issue)
