Apparently Avanta is no more. If you google "avanta" you get their link, but following it brings up Rockerz skate guards.
Even the Avanta pinterest post from a while back brings up the same thing.
No skates to be found.

They moved to California from Tennessee, but then dropped off the radar.  I think their website domain may have expired.

There was some brief chatter on FB about Avanta back in August 2017, when Don Klingbeil posted this:

QuoteHello Skaters,

Just wanted you to know that Will from Avanta Skating Labs will be in the area taking fittings for boots. This company has come a long way. They are now building the most advanced boots on the market today. They even have National competitors - one skater was going to stop skating bu,t after she tried the Avante boots, she could skate again and won nationals.  The boots today are comfortable, durable and balanced for easy skating.  I am very proud of these boots. They are also now using Klingbeils customer service and are offering incredible warranties.

Will is going to be in N.Y and CT. August 16 and 17. Feel free to call 510-990-2138. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

P.S. the time frame for making boots has also shorted extremely.

Oh, this does not bode well for Karen Chen who has had constant boot problems and I believed has recently switched to Avanta.

I contacted them back in March about getting a fitting but the only fitter they had in my area was going to be at ISU worlds the next day and there was no time.

It's possible it's just their site and social media got hacked and they decided to reroute it to the Rockerz site. I'm guessing Karen was the skater that was going to quit but then won Nationals on her Avanta boots

My browser, which is set up somewhat securely, says:

Your connection is not secure

The owner of www.avantaskatingboots.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

www.avantaskatingboots.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for the following names: www.rockerzskateguards.com, rockerzskateguards.com Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN

So, it is indeed possible that the website has been hacked.

Of course there are many possibilities. E.g., maybe Avanta tried to change web design companies, and the old designer did this. That happens a lot - if you let the web designer register your domain for you, they can do bad things, if you stop paying them.

Also note:

  https://www.facebook.com/avantaboots has expired.

  https://www.instagram.com/avantaskating/ still exists.

Here is an old version of the site:

The contact info on the old version

  https://web.archive.org/web/20161218134948/http://www.avantaskatingboots.com:80/Contact

gives

PHONE    (214) 717-4272
ADDRESS
30993 Huntwood Ave #202

The email server avantaboots.com is also now associated with RockerZ.

If you want Avanta boots, it might be worth trying the phone, or the mail address. If you do find them, you might tell them of the problem, though they probably know.

Good luck!

Actually now I remember they sent me an email in August to let me know they had a new email address info@avantabootlabs.com though that isn't a website that I can find

Their pricing structure was decent. $1050 $150 extra for the Rocker soles.

Query

When will companies learn that keeping contact information constant (web pages, etc.) is a really good idea? Doing anything else makes it look like you are hiding from your customers, which for a company with good people like Avanta makes no sense. It is bad enough that they didn't manage to retain the Klingbeil name, even though they took a lot of people on from Klingbeil when that company died, and they used Don Klingbeil as an advisor.

I do notice that Avanta and RockerZ are associated through the Sineks, so perhaps it wasn't a mixup at all.

Back to a recent question, though not the originally topic from 2014, the Facebook page and the OLD Instagram page both have lots of pictures of Avanta boots. The hook pattern makes them look a lot like Klingbeil's boots - which makes a lot of sense.

For some reason, I haven't met anyone using Avanta boots, though a lot of people here loved Klingbeil boots, and the good service they offered. Are Avanta boots popular anywhere - e.g., near Avanta's own location?

I had sort of decided I might buy Avantas if I needed new boots, but there is no one here to ask about them.

I would love to hear if recent Avanta boot purchases have lived up to their promise, and how recent Avantas compare to other boots in quality, weight and durability. The new website isn't very specific yet, other than that they are using leather uppers, which seems different from the emphasis on new materials Avanta talked about in the early days. How good is the custom fit? Is the factory fit still done by a podiatrist? How well does the original post in this thread still apply? A really good informative, website, with exactly what they offer, at what prices, would be an excellent way to attract new customers.

They don't seem to mention the rockerz soles at all anymore so maybe it's not a mixup and some kind of disagreement. There seems to be no reason at all to change all of your social media accounts, email servers and website. I don't know anyone who skates in them and I was surprised they had no dealers in the Los Angeles area though I was willing to travel to San Fran for the day.

CutieDarkFae

Hi :)

I emailed them asking if they have anybody who can do fittings in Australia, and got a reply :)  So they're still around, and yes they do offer the Rockerz soles as an extra.  Unfortunately they don't have anybody who'll do fittings in Australia, and don't know about the Mondo Point system either :(  But they will ship me a set of their STSSOX stuff for USD200 so I can get myself cast up and send them back.  That price comes off the price of the boots which helps.

I hope this helps.

Query

But last I knew, they wanted the casting to be done by a podiatrist - and the cost of the podiatrist, which can be quite high, has to be paid for by you, if you don't go to the Avanta factory/store for the fitting.

Query

Regardless of whatever issues people have had with Avanta in the past, Don (Donald) Klingbeil has made a Facebook post, in which he says Will Murillo and possibly himself will be in NYC taking orders for Avanta boots on 12/27/17:

If you have trouble contacting Avanta, you might try contacting Don, through his facebook page:

  https://www.facebook.com/donald.klingbeil

The quote is at https://www.facebook.com/donald.klingbeil.5?hc_ref=ARQ8Ol3CaG_8szbM7r3qkGIWTR7xIbs0kQHPIUQ-IVIF_6YF7M18Ci8MjyS13PGIHxE&fref=nf

It says

QuoteHi everyone .
Its that time again to send out a post about the wonderful Avanta Skating Boots. Will Murillo has been going out by popular demand to take measurements and castings again..I am very proud of how far Avanta has come.As you probably know I feel that the Avanta boots are the finest boots on the market. They have also improved their customer servie and has adopted Klingbeils way of treating customers. So Will will be in New York-Long Island taking orders for boots on Dec. 27. and I believe I will be ther also. I would be happy to see enjoy the company of skaters again and answer questions. Please call Avanta Skating Labs and speak to Sue , Allie , or Will at 510 990 2138 from 12pm to 8pm.I really hope to see you soon!!!!! Thanks So Much , Donald Klingbeil.

The phone number in that message is the same as is on Avanta's web page and Avanta's Facebook page. However, the hours (which I presume are Pacific Standard Time; Add 3 hours to get Eastern Standard Time) are somewhat unexpected. (When I have tried to call Avanta in the morning, it did not work, not surprising since they are only open in the Pacific Time afternoon and evening.)

I have dealt with and completely trust Don :), from back when he ran and was the master bootmaker for Klingbeil boots, and if he comes to NYC, I would be completely confident that his fit measurements would be nearly perfect, though of course Avanta has to actually make and ship the boots.

I haven't dealt with Will, but he is quite experienced, and was trained to make make and fit skates by the Klingbeils starting in 1994. He is listed as the Avanta boot designer, and I guess he is in charge there:

http://grantland.com/features/the-last-skate-atelier (out of date - the Klingbeil company no longer exists, but has interesting historical info of Don, the Klingbeil copmany, and Will)

https://www.afallastudios.com/blog/avant-skating-boots (Says that Avanta is slow to make boots. Slow enough (over 12 weeks) that if you are a child, you might outgrow the boots before they come, if you have a growth spurt. :( Slow enough that if your current boots are broken down, or non-existent, you may not choose to wait.)

Getting the right fitter for skates extremely important. If you were to order from Avanta, these are probably the right people to do the fit. Avanta might also be most likely to accept returns for bad fit, if the fit was done by one of them.

This is not an endorsement of Avanta - just information. I have no experience with Avanta, and do not personally know anyone who has Avanta boots, nor have I seen their boots in person.
