Last year my rink started serving beer at the snack bar (PS, the hamburgers are great!)

Anyway,  I don't know how many rinks do this (except for curling rinks--in the 70's the curling rink in Duluth was the only place you could get beer after midnight--)

So, does your rink serve beer?
Yes I'm in with the 90's. I have a skating blog. http://icedoesntcare.blogspot.com/

My primary rink has a full restaurant with a bar. However, you cannot take alcohol outside of the restaurant area, so it can't wander anywhere near the ice surfaces.

Query

Agnes - are you talking about the Ashburn rink.

Laurel's curling rink has a bar. But you aren't supposed to go there unless you are visiting the curling center, or are in the curling club - i.e. people using the other 5 surfaces at the Laurel facility aren't supposed to go there. I don't know if they check.

Some of the spectators to hockey games here bring beer - at least to some of the outdoor rink games. I'm not sure about to the other games. In any event, it would be easy enough to re-package beer in a water bottle.

There is a rink with a beer garden next to it in Philadelphia:

I don't know of any other local ice or roller rinks that have bars, but I haven't checked. I'm pretty sure that beer is very common at hockey games, and would guess that sports arenas often serve beer at games.

It's a cultural thing, but it would be unheard of for ANY rink in Belgium not to serve alcohol and particularly Beer.

Our rink only serves beer during the NAHL hockey games.  It's not sold through the regular concession.  This is Wisconsin, so it's actually kind of surprising that you can't get beer in a vending machine.  :)

No, they don't and I wish they did sometimes. My, um...friend made a mess of her purse trying to bring in a coffee thermos with wine in it for a toast at an end of synchro season party.

No, our rink (operated by the local Park Board) does not sell beer.  At least, I'm pretty sure they don't-they are rarely open during our practice times.  I've been to some hockey games though and I don't think I saw any then.

Pseudo-municipal rink = no alcohol or firearms on premises.  The men's adult hockey group got around that by creating a "picnic area" behind the rink, with 6' solid fencing and a canopy.  The FS Club had a picnic there and the "pavement" was hilarious: gravel, (garden) weeds and thousands of beer bottle caps.

There's a bar in the area that overlooks two of my rink's three ice surfaces.  I wish I were able to take advantage of it more often!

Yes.  During hockey games with paid admission.  So not like little Tommy's peewee game or anything.

The place where I practice ice dancing and spotlight/showcase at, the same place that one of the USFS clubs has their ice times, does have a sports bar on site that serves beer. But then, the facility is a multi-purpose business, with basketball, trampoline, zip lines, roller hockey, and many other activities other than ice skating.
