Why Chicago has so many rinks

With the exception of the rink in Northbrook none of the facilities in the article are very close to Chicago.  The five rinks I skate on are all mature rinks and none could be called "state of the art."  All are either in the city proper or are much closer to the city than those cited. An interesting read though.
