This one is a hockey skate.

I talked to the boot maker over the phone. My right foot is fine with my inline skates. So, a low heel in the figure skate should be fine. The boot maker has done this before and I feel he is very competent. Some coaches prefer a low heel for their skaters. As he said, it is very controversial.

I've seen skates with low heels before. They are used for the Gliding Stars program where there are children with disabilities that require the lower heel, and disabilities such as down syndrome where they have very flat feet and can't use a heel.

Good luck with your search!

Sometimes wrong things continue. An example is during the 1970's I was working on a new ECG machine. The prior technology distorted the ECG waveform in order to keep it on the paper by 0.1 Hz. I developed a technology to keep the waveform stable without distortion. The medical community wouldn't accept it because doctors were used to the distorted waveform. If the waveform standards change, they won't know what to do.

Woah that's awesome. Why don't you try to develop it now? That makes it easier, right?
