Wow - lot of members already!

I must apologize because I'm moving things around and reorganizing the forums to make it fresh and new, but mostly importantly, functional.  So I'm sorry if you lost track of the welcome thread.  It was really about the board, not about skating, so I moved it.  *cringes*

I'll be done in a little while and then you can pick up where you left off.  I'll try to recreate a few of my favorite threads over soon.

Just a few things to think about:

Jim and Renata gave generously of their time and resources to create this board and salvage the old board's knowledge.  Many hands make light work - if you can help out in some way, please let us know.

If members only use one forum as a collect-all, we don't need a message board.
A simple Discussion Group would suffice, like the Yahoo! Groups approach. (No insult intended.)

If lurkers sign in to do research and never post, we don't need a message board.
Many boards lock users with zero posts out from lurking since they're not contributing.
A static wiki would be better if no one adds anything current.

We want to make this message board work and grow.  Tell your skating friends.

Give the board a try and if you like it, we can keep it going for skaters.

If you have suggestions or ideas to make the board better, tell us about them here:

FAIR WARNING: This board uses different software than skatingforums used, so the functionality's different.  It's not that much more complicated, but there are more options available.  It might be a bit frustrating to figure out how to start a new thread or reply or quote, but it just takes practice.  Be patient and give yourself a chance.

Aren't you supposed to be on birthday holiday, LOL?  Really though, I am glad you're spiffing things up.  I am not happy with the color, but I haven't found a theme that looks better to me.

Isk8NYC

I like the blue theme - it's better than the green one I use on my other mod board.

I am heading offline shortly, but I was excited about this forum.  I use SMF on another board and I like it - it's different than the vbulletin that skatingforums and fsu uses, but it's got some interesting features.
