In the Winter 2010 Basic Skills Newsletter, there was a small article on the Glenview Ice Center's warmups for their Basic Skills groups. They were kind enough to allow the USFSA to post the warmup sheets online.

Thank you for sharing! I downloaded the FS1-6 sheet and got slightly confused how it's constructed. For example FS has:
Free Skate 5 (10 minutes)
Spiral sequence- both directions (FO spiral, FO 3 turn, 1 back crossover, BI spiral)
Forward outside slide chasse swing roll sequence
Is it possible that the FS5 group does these sequences continuously for 10 minutes as warm-up? Or am I reading it totally wrong? :)
This is cool!
Also I'm pretty sure my parents took me to that ice arena sometime as a child.... there and the northbrook ice arena. My grandma is close to both lol. :)
Hmm. I don't believe in using spirals as warmup- just asking for an accident- and some of it's too easy and doesn't really -warm up- the skaters. I'm about Pre-preliminary, and I warm up with simple stroking, power threes & alternating back crossovers.
