Outdoor Performance

My daughter is going to be performing at an outdoor rink at a Ski Resort.  Her coach told her at her lesson this week that she will need to dress warm and to wear skate pants.  She is skating to Walking on Sunshine, so she also said to dress in bright colors.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can get for her?  All she's ever worn in performances/competition is skate dresses.  The other caveat is I don't have a lot of time to come up with something.  HELP!

Do you have an ivivva store near you? They have a lot of bright colors and really cute designs for kids athletic wear, so you may be able to find a cute jacket/pants combination. They sell some little skirts, too, that can be worn over their pants. Then you can use all the things for regular practice as well. We love ivivva.

I don't see a bright yellow top (they used to have one, my daughter has it) but you may be able to find a yellow jacket somewhere else, maybe Under Armour - many of their designs are bright colors.

We recently did an outdoor performance and just wore our regular skating clothes-it was a Christmas number so Christmas sweaters and skirts or leggings.  It worked out fine for us since we went on a beautiful weather weekend.  But, the girls who skated in their cute skate dresses when it was about 20 degrees....another story!  There was a storm coming and the resort kindly put them up for the night so it all worked out.

If the temps will be 20 degrees or below I would suggest looking for some inexpensive lined ski bibs/pants. Burlington Coat Factory usually carries a decent selection this time of year. Girls bibs usually come in a variety of bright colors.

I skate in my ski bibs on the outdoor rink at the ski resort and am quite comfortable. My bibs are unlined but even lined bibs are not very bulky.

Fleece lined skating pants and a coordinating fleece skating headband? I find that having my ears covered makes a huge difference! I wore one of my headbands when I skated outdoors in Philly in December and was nice and warm!
